Bella Day, the second recipient of the Somebody’s Sunshine Scholarship, spent part of this summer on an incredible educational journey across Europe. A student with a deep love of literature and history, Bella traveled through England, Scotland, France, and Spain—bringing her studies to life in ways that only travel can provide.
Through her program, Bella took four university-level courses focused on European literature and historical movements, with the countries she visited serving as immersive backdrops to what she was learning. She visited world-renowned museums, stood at some of Europe’s most iconic landmarks, and attended a live performance of a Shakespeare play—an unforgettable experience for any literature lover.
Beyond the academic enrichment, Bella found time to explore on her own. She wandered through charming towns, connected with locals and fellow students, and soaked in the cultural rhythm of each country she visited. It was a trip filled not only with learning, but with joy, curiosity, and meaningful personal growth.
Bella shared that the support from the Somebody’s Sunshine Scholarship helped make this experience possible—opening the door to a broader world and inspiring her in ways that will shape both her studies and her future path.
We’re proud to highlight her journey here and share a few photos from her travels. Bella’s story is a beautiful example of what the Somebody’s Sunshine Scholarship is all about: creating opportunities for discovery, connection, and lifelong learning.
